To understand how LuminEd ERP works first we need to configure and setup it for our school. In this whole documentation we will consider our sample school which is Zia Foundation High School.

Step 1: Create Sections

Menu Path: Academics > Sections
Sections are groupings within a class (like A, B, C). Start by creating all the sections your school uses.

Step 2: Create Classes

Menu Path: Academics > Classes
Now, define each class offered by your school (e.g., Class 1, Class 2... up to 12th). While creating a class, you can assign multiple sections that you created earlier.

Step 3: Create Subject Groups

Menu Path: Academics > Subject Groups
Each class may have different subjects grouped by curriculum or stream (like Science, Arts, etc.). Create subject groups to simplify assignment.

Step 4: Assign Subject Groups to Classes

Once subject groups are created, go back to the class setup screen and assign subject groups to the relevant classes. This links the curriculum structure with your academic hierarchy.

Step 5: Add Teaching Staff

Menu Path: Human Resource > Staff Directory
Now it’s time to add your teachers. For each staff member, enter their basic info, department, subject responsibilities, and assign a login role.

6. Great! you have completed your LuminEd ERP setup. To understand each module in detail, go to its concerning article.
